Empty Eyes
I’m so cold
In this empty void
Things around me change
I see it all through jaded eyes
I’ve been here so long
Never moving
Ever cold
Wishing I was somewhere else
Anywhere but here.
Something within me stirs.
Inward I turn.
I haven’t been here for some time
It’s not any different than before
But deep down
If you really look
You can see fire
Raging to greet the ice.
Gasping, I come back.
Back to the outside.
Leaving myself once more
Abandoning myself to the war
A change is coming
A change within me
A change that will be my end.
The war inside me’s begun
And I stare out around me with empty eyes...
I’m so cold
